Please join us as we celebrate the history, science, music/art, and significance of Lake Champlain. This fall’s meeting will be held at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, 4472 Basin Harbor Road in Vergennes, Vermont on September 23, 2006. We are pleased to have Mr. Arthur Cohn, Executive Director of the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, and Dr. Mary Watzin, Director, Rubenstein Ecosystem Science Laboratory, University of Vermont as morning speakers. The schedule of events will also allow participants to enjoy a tour of the wonderful Maritime Museum. The afternoon sessions include enjoying a two-hour expedition on Lake Champlain aboard UVM’s Melosira, co-sponsored by the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, the University’s Lake research vessel, additional time to tour and enjoy the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, and a Musical/Ecological Art presentation by William Tortolano (co-sponsored by the Vermont Humanities Council).
